KIDS BRAZILIAN JIU JITSU
We are devoted to the overall development and future of our students so our lessons go far beyond just physical training. Our students learn positive character education traits, the importance of being kind to others, how to deal with bullies, as well as valuable leadership skills.
Our academy provides a fun, safe environment to exercise and learn. We can help your child focus and listen better, as well as get better grades in school and be more self-disciplined at home. The benefits are endless when you invest in your child’s future by training at our academy. We use specially designed games and fun drills to keep students engaged while learning.
Our World Class kids martial arts classes here in Orlando combine the best and most practical skills from Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Karate, and Muay Thai Kickboxing. This system of training provides a child with all the tools necessary to capably defend themselves while standing as well as on the ground should they ever need to.
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is recognized as the most effective martial art in the world because it allows a smaller, weaker person to defeat a stronger and larger opponent using angles, leverage, and proper technique. The fact that Jiu-Jitsu is a grappling martial art that does not rely on strength and size makes it a viable self-defense system for a child. Jiu-Jitsu, more than other martial arts, teaches students self-control and self-discipline to persevere through adversity. With our structured curriculum and goal oriented ranking system, our program is far safer than most sports.
Our Character Education program is integrated into all of our Orlando kids martial arts classes. It is designed to help our students recognize and embody the positive character traits of a martial artist. These traits help them build the foundation of discipline, gratitude, work ethic, integrity, focus, and so much more. The Character Education lessons rotate regularly and our daily “mat chats” help students remember the lesson and teach them how to demonstrate it. Some examples of our Character Education lessons are: RESPECT, SELF-DISCIPLINE, GRATITUDE, INTEGRITY, PERSEVERANCE, INDOMITABLE SPIRIT, COURAGE, MODESTY, SELF CONTROL and COURTESY.
Our anti-bullying system teaches students how to responsibly deal with bullies. We teach our students the proper steps to take if they or someone they know is being bullied. Students learn to practice self-control and use their words, instead of violence, to resolve problems. Of course students are trained to defend themselves if they need to, but this is rarely the case. Confidence, awareness, and assertive communication can usually prevent physical altercations.
RANDOM ACTS OF KINDNESS
Performing Random Acts of Kindness is one of the requirements for promotion in all our kids’ programs. We believe that being technical, as well as physically and mentally strong is important; but it is more important to be a good person. At Champions Jiu Jitsu Muay Thai we are dedicated to helping our students build character beyond the mat. For their first graduation, students are required to do a small number of random acts of kindness. As they progress to the more advanced belts, the number increases. These can be simple things they do to help around the house or in the community like cleaning up their toys, feeding their pet, helping a classmate with homework, or holding the door open for someone. Over time, helping others becomes a part of their character. This is just one example of why we are the best academy in Orlando for children’s martial arts!
This specially designed program is by nomination only and goes much deeper into our positive Character Education traits. Students must lead by example and demonstrate consistent good behavior, dedication to improve, strong work ethic, and a desire to help others. One of our long term goals is to teach our students how to be leaders in the community. Our Leadership program gives students the tools necessary to lead their peers and not succumb to peer pressure. This program also provides the training and foundation to becoming an instructor. Leaders are allowed to assist in teaching classes, lead warm-ups, and line up with the instructors before and after class. The lessons of helping others, paying it forward, and holding yourself to higher standards lead to a lifetime of self-improvement and fulfillment.
